A
Alümina (Al₂O₃)
An intermediate product obtained from bauxite through the Bayer Process and used as the raw material for aluminum electrolysis.
Aluminum
A lightweight metal with high electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance, widely used across industrial applications.
Anode
A carbon-based consumable electrode used in the electrolysis process, reacting with oxygen released from alumina.
Anode Paste
A mixture of petroleum coke and pitch used as the raw material in anode production.
Anode Baking Furnace
An industrial furnace where green anodes are baked at high temperatures to achieve mechanical strength and electrical conductivity.

Carbon
The main material used in anode and cathode production.
Casting
The process of solidifying molten aluminum into defined shapes using molds.
Casting Line
A production line where continuous or semi-continuous aluminum casting is performed.

Filtration
A solid–liquid separation process used in alumina production.
Foil
An ultra-thin rolled aluminum product used in packaging and insulation applications.
Furnace
Industrial equipment used for melting, baking, or thermal processing.
H
Hall-Héroult Process
The primary electrolytic reduction method used for the production of aluminum.
Hot Rolling
The rolling of aluminum at elevated temperatures.

Lime
An auxiliary material used in the Bayer Process for impurity control.
R
Recycling
The process of recovering and reprocessing aluminum scrap into usable metal.
Refractory
High-temperature-resistant materials used for furnace linings.

Secondary Aluminum
Aluminum produced from recycled scrap rather than from alumina.
Slag
A non-metallic by-product formed during melting and metallurgical operations.
Smelting
The electrochemical production of aluminum through the reduction of alumina.

A chemical process in which bauxite is digested with caustic soda to extract alumina.
Bauxite
The primary natural ore used for aluminum production.
By-Products
Materials generated alongside primary production, such as slag and red mud.

Degassing
The process of removing dissolved hydrogen and unwanted gases from molten aluminum.
Digestion
The stage in the Bayer Process where bauxite is dissolved in caustic soda.

Electrolyte
A molten cryolite-based solution in which alumina is dissolved during electrolysis.
Electrolysis
The electrochemical process of reducing alumina into molten aluminum using electrical energy.
Electrolysis Cell (Pot)
The main industrial unit where the electrolysis process takes place.

Gas Removal
A general term for degassing operations applied to molten aluminum.
Graphite Cathode
A conductive carbon layer used in electrolysis cells.
Green Anode
An unbaked anode containing petroleum coke and pitch prior to the baking process.

Ingot
A standard cast aluminum product form used for remelting or further processing.

Prebaked Anode
An anode that is baked separately before use, providing higher efficiency and lower emissions.
Primary Aluminum
